Thank you for your interest in this project, “Research into the needs of the Royal Navy submariner community” funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.

This short survey will help us gather basic information about who you are and your availability.

Please note that, in the context of this research, a family member is defined as anyone who plays a significant role in a submariner's life. This includes, but is not limited to, spouses, civil partners, cohabiting partners in committed relationships, children under 18, and relatives such as parents, siblings, and grandparents who live with, are financially dependent on, or are cared for by the Service member or their partner. It can also include someone with deep emotional ties outside of traditional legal and familial definitions.

Participation in this research involves an invitation to speak with a NatCen researcher through a 60-minute interview or a paired interview e.g. [a parent and a child, parents, etc], depending on your preference.

Information on how NatCen will collect and handle your data as part of this research can be found in the ‘Privacy Notice’ on the project webpage here.

The interviews will be scheduled between the 16th September to 18th October 2024. To allow the team to circulate relevant information in good time, please get in touch as soon as possible by completing this survey, it should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.
